Frequently Asked Questions
Got Questions?
We got answers. Here are some of the frequently asked questions at Young Collision Center. If you still have questions, please select a location and contact us today!
Am I obligated to take my car to the repair shop recommended by my insurance?
No, you are not obligated to go to the repair shop recommended by your insurance company. While they may suggest a specific location based on established relationships, Utah state law supports your right to choose your repair facility.
Does Young Collision Center offer a guarantee for its work?
Yes, we provide a lifetime guarantee on all workmanship associated with our repairs.
Does Young Collision Center collaborate with all insurance providers?
Yes, our Young Collision Center locations are pleased to work with all insurance providers.
Can I get a rental car while my vehicle is being repaired?
Yes, in most cases, your insurance company will cover the cost of a rental car during repairs. We arrange rentals primarily through Hertz and Enterprise.
What is a deductible?
A deductible is the amount you, as the policyholder, must pay out of pocket before your insurance coverage applies. For instance, if you have a $500 deductible and incur $2000 in vehicle damage, you’ll pay $500, and your insurer covers the remaining $1500.
Can Young Collision Center waive my deductible?
We cannot waive deductibles. However, if you possess an active vehicle service contract, we can offer a deductible credit of up to $1,000.
Does Young Collision Center use OEM parts for repairs?
While we specialize in factory repairs, insurance requirements may necessitate aftermarket parts. Nonetheless, we strive to price-match aftermarket parts and use factory parts whenever feasible, achieving an 85% success rate in price matching. This ensures high-quality repairs while adhering to insurance guidelines.
Is the first insurance check mine?
Occasionally, insurance companies may inadvertently send the customer a check intended for the body shop. If you receive such a check, please ensure it is promptly provided to the collision center.
Is there a charge for an estimate?
Nope—estimates are completely free at Young Collision Center. We’ll assess your vehicle, explain your options, and give you a clear quote with zero pressure.
Does Young Collision Center take walk-ins?
Yes, we welcome walk-ins! Stop by any of our locations in Layton, Ogden, or Burley during business hours and we’ll get you taken care of as soon as possible.
Do you need an appointment?
Not at all. While appointments are helpful for planning, they’re not required. Feel free to come by whenever it’s convenient for you—we’ll make sure you’re helped promptly.
Does Young Collision Center have towing available?
Yes, towing is available. If your vehicle isn’t drivable, give us a call and we’ll help coordinate towing to the nearest Young Collision Center location.
How long will my repairs take?
Repair timelines depend on the extent of damage, parts availability, and insurance approval. Minor repairs like dent removal may take just a few days, while more complex collision repairs could take one to two weeks. Our team will provide you with a detailed timeline during your estimate and keep you updated throughout the process.
What is vehicle reconditioning, and how is it different from collision repair?
Collision repair focuses on restoring structural safety and appearance after an accident, while vehicle reconditioning improves both the look and function of your vehicle over time. Reconditioning includes services like scratch removal, headlight restoration, paint protective film, and wheel reconditioning. It’s ideal for maintaining your car’s value even if it hasn’t been in a collision.
Can Young Collision Center fix damage to modern safety features like cameras or sensors?
Yes. Many vehicles today are equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) that rely on cameras, radar, and sensors. If your ADAS robot system is impacted by a collision or repair, our technicians can recalibrate and restore it to factory standards. This ensures that features like lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control function correctly.
Do I need to schedule an appointment for an estimate?
While walk-ins are welcome, scheduling an appointment is often the best way to ensure we can give you immediate attention. Appointments allow us to plan ahead, reduce your wait time, and provide a more accurate assessment. Either way, estimates are always free.
Can you match the original color of my vehicle?
Yes, we use advanced paint-matching technology to ensure repairs blend seamlessly with your factory finish. Our computerized systems take into account your vehicle’s make, model, and even slight variations in your paint’s aging, so the final result is virtually indistinguishable from the rest of the car.
What happens if more damage is found during the repair process?
It’s common for hidden damage to be discovered once repairs begin, especially with modern vehicles that hide components behind bumpers or panels. If this occurs, we’ll contact both you and your insurance provider immediately, provide documentation of the damage, and update your estimate before moving forward.
Does Young Collision Center work on all types of vehicles?
Absolutely. We service all makes and models, including domestic, import, luxury, and commercial vehicles. From compact sedans to heavy-duty trucks, our team has the training and equipment to handle it all.
